Headstart is a programme for fresh graduates of MD and DNB Internal Medicine. During their trainining these soon-to-be consulting physicians learn predominantly about indoor patient management. Everyday practice, however, involves a much more voluminous outdoor practice. This gross mismatch leads to a prolonged learning curve with respect to outpatient care. Headstart aims to dramatically shorten this learning curve.
Headstart, thus, is a 6-day learning programme that focuses solely on outpatient diagnostics and therapeutics.
Headstart 2019 enrolled six students who undertook sporadic (but not infrequent) interactions with dr tushar shah and other consultants through three years of training. The interactions involve learning internal medicine conducted in the uniquely entertaining methodology of PiE.
The students will each receive a scholarship in kind of a minimum value of rupees one lakh. This will be distributed over the three years of DNB. The only expense that the students shall incur is of their time.
